Despite it being two months from race time, fans, drivers and officials have their calendar circled for April 13th at Montgomery Motor Speedway (AL). The ASA Southern Super Series will return to Montgomery for the first time since 2022.
“Montgomery is a staple on the Southern Super Series schedule,” said series General Manager Tim Bryant. “We like the unique high speed challenges that Montgomery offers to our drivers and fans, and the hospitality from Stan Narrison and his staff is always first rate. We are excited to be back in 2024.
The historic half-mile track has long been a fixture on the ASA Southern Super Series schedule, but mother nature took care of any plans to race in 2023 as the date was canceled twice due to weather.
Now the Southern Super Series is set to return on a Saturday for the Rumble by the River 125, as a combination event with the Pro Late Model Show Me the Money Series. Both divisions will race in what is believed to be the first Late Model doubleheader in the track's history.
“We are beyond excited for the upcoming visit by the Southern Super Series,” said Montgomery Motor Speedway General Manager Stan Narrison. “We haven't gotten to see the Super Late Models race at Montgomery in over a year. To get the opportunity to do it with our Pro Late Models makes it extra special.”
The season is already under way for the Southern Super Series who ran points races at Cordele Motor Speedway (GA) and New Smyrna Speedway (FL). This will be the first stand-alone event of the season for the Southern Super Series. Bubba Pollard won both of the first two races in dramatic fashion.
Before we can throw the green in April both Montgomery and the Southern Super Series will have other dates to take care of. The Southern Super Series will have another combination race with the ASA STARS National Tour on March 24th in Pensacola, while Montgomery will have a huge event of its own on March 2nd, the historic Alabama 200 for the Show Me the Money Pro Late Models.
The Rumble by the River 125 will take place on Saturday, April 13th. For more information about the ASA Southern Super Series visit the series website at www.SouthernSuperSeries.com
