The key players in the Super Late Model world will get back at it on Saturday, January 24th, as the ASA Southern Super Series kicks off the 2026 season with the annual SpeedFest event at Cordele Motor Speedway.
Stephen Nasse will be back in a Super Late Model for the first time since his Snowball Derby win last December. After his victory in the Derby, it’s almost easier to list the races he hasn’t won than the ones he has.
Nasse has never won the SpeedFest event, but he has been victorious in the Pro Late Model portion of the race. Nevertheless, Nasse will be looking to be the man with the checkered flag after 150 laps.
While Nasse has never won it, his top rival on the track, Bubba Pollard, has captured five SpeedFest wins, and he’s won the last four in a row. Pollard is also fresh off a win in the Red Eye 60 at New Smyrna on January 4th.
Pollard has not only won the race five times, but he’s also led the event 12 times and posted top-five runs in 10 events.
The two will square off in Central Georgia next weekend.
Having just these two would be enough for most race fans, but the list of characters is long with Keelan Harvick, Jett Noland, Brandon Lopez, William Sawalich, Vito Cancilla, Hudson Bulger and Dawson Sutton, just to name a few.
The annual SpeedFest event for the ASA Southern Super Series is also the first leg of the Cordele Motor Speedway SuperFest. Now in its second year, the four-race series culminates in the World Crown 300 on October 24th, and offers substantial financial rewards to drivers who simply compete in the preliminary events. The World Crown will also serve as the Southern Super Series Championship race.
In addition to the Super Late Model race, the Southern Pros will run a 100-lap event before the main event on Saturday afternoon.
