Cole Butcher became the first driver to win the first three-straight races in a single season, in a Deep South Crane Blizzard Series at Five Flags Speedway. In the series' history, three wins in a row have only been achieved over the course of two seasons. Butcher will look to be the first driver to sweep a series come September at Five Flags.
Adding to the Butcher train, he set a record for most laps led in an ASA Southern Super Series season and a Blizzard Series. He has now led 773 laps in the Southern Super Series this year and 330 in the Blizzard Series.
For the first time in a long time, Bubba Pollard was the Hard Charger Award winner for the Tibbetts Lumber 100. Pollard started 12th and finished sixth. Normally Pollard has started further to the front. Pollard did win a Blizzard race in 2021 where he started 17th, but another driver improved 20 positions to Pollard’s 16 on that night.
The 2025 season for Stephen Nasse continues to be a top-five-making machine as Nasse ends up third in the Tibbetts Lumber 100 on Friday night. Nasse has been on the podium in his last three starts in the ASA Southern Super Series. His average finish at Five Flags is 4.0 in his three starts this season. Counting the Snowball Derby and the Snowflake 100 it’s been five straight races at Five Flags in the top five.
After his win at Montgomery Motor Speedway, Matt Craig comes back with a strong second-place finish at Five Flags in the third round of the Blizzard Series. This is the best career finish for Craig in a Super Late Model race at Five Flags.
Jake Finch captured the Engine Builders Pole Award early in the night before placing fourth in the feature event. Finch has completed every lap he’s run in 2025 in the series and has four top-10 finishes in only a handful of starts.
With his last two starts, Jett Noland is starting to look like he’s back to full form in a Super Late Model with a seventh at Montgomery and a fifth at Five Flags. Noland scored his first top-five finish since New Smyrna in 2024.
We have to give credit to Chase Pinsonneault, who has now logged three consecutive top 10 finishes in a row. Pinsonneault has been at all the events this season and has completed all but four laps this season.
In his first ASA Southern Super Series event, Max Reaves scored a top-10 finish at Five Flags Speedway. Reaves, who won the Pensacola 150 ARCA East event in March, got great experience in the lighter car with potential notes for the Snowball Derby in December.
After winning the most recent Pro Late Model race at Five Flags, Spencer Davis came back and led the practice round on Friday. Davis finished in the top 10 for the second time this season at Five Flags and set himself up to finish in the top 10 in Blizzard Series points. It was a fitting reward after he blew an engine in Thursday’s practice, and the Ben Kennedy team made an overnight trip from North Carolina with a replacement.
