Mobile Notes: Race 2

What a night it was for Bubba Pollard, who picked up his 41st career ASA Southern Super Series win along with his 35th Engine Builders Pole Award. The win was also the sixth career SSS victory for Pollard at Mobile.  The victory unofficially gave the points lead back to Pollard with two point races remaining.  Pollard has finished all 11 races in the top 10 this season.

While Cole Butcher didn’t win the race, he did keep his lap-leading streak alive as he paced the field for 11 circuits, making it 10 races that he has led in 11 events.  He has already broken the record for Most laps led in a season.

While Bubba Pollard may have been the victor at Mobile, the hottest driver on the ASA Southern Super Series circuit is still Matt Craig.  A victory at Montgomery a few weeks back has been followed up with back-to-back second-place finishes.   Craig will be looking for another win and a potential fourth-straight podium finish come September.

2024 Southern Super Series Rookie of the Year Dustin Smith posted a season-best fifth-place run at his home track of Mobile International Speedway.  The Alabama native has now finished in the top 10 in each of his last three starts.

Anthony Campi Racing had some up and down moments with their drivers at Mobile, but Colby Howard charged from 15th to finish third and pick up the hard charger award for the night. Rookie Carson Brown was right behind in fourth to give ACR a pair of top-five finishes.

Gavan Boschele remains the top rookie with nine top 10 runs this season in 11 starts.  Boschele won at New Smyrna in February, and he has been knocking out good finishes ever since.  The season finale will be back at New Smyrna for the Governor's Cup 200.

Jade Avedisian posted an eighth-place finish in her second race with the ASA Southern Super Series this season.  She has finished in the lead lap in both her races in 2025.
