Pinsonneault Ready to Keep on Trucking at Mobile Summer Event

It’s been a solid summer for Chase Pinsonneault in the 131 MotorSports Park number 14.  The Belle River, Ontario, Canada driver has run the balance of the ASA Southern Super Series and the ASA STARS National Tour this season. Pinsonneault has posted three top 10 runs in the south, and he’s coming off a season-best 6th at the most recent ASA race at Slinger.

Now, the attention turns to Mobile International Speedway, which is the next race with the Southern Super Series.  The Battle on the Bayou, CraneWorks 100 Presented by Mobile Sports Authority, will be the second-career stop at Mobile for Pinsonneault.

“I like coming down to that racetrack,” said Pinsonneault. “Mobile is fast and high banked and super, super hard on tires. I'm a big fan of tire wear races. Mobile is a great track because you have to save, or you could go to the front anytime you want before everyone goes hard.”

The race in the spring saw seven lead changes, and the top 15 cars were all on the lead lap after the 100-lap distance. The same type of show is expected because the driver will want to save their stuff for the second part of the race.

Track position is so key in these races,” added Pinsonneault.  “You often expect drivers to fall out of races, but we have not seen that as much in the Southern Super Series.  We have come a long way this season from qualifying to saving tires, and that’s starting to show.”

Pinsonneault looks to improve on his eighth-place in the point standings, as there are just a few races remaining.

The Battle on the Bayou, CraneWorks 100 Presented by Mobile Sports Authority, will take place on Saturday, August 2nd at Mobile International Speedway. There will be an optional practice day on Friday, August 1st.  The Pro Trucks and the Crown Stocks will join the ASA Southern Super Series on the racing card.
