The 2025 season has had a little bit of everything. New Winners, repeat winners and a few swaps of the point lead. Now the ASA Southern Super Series competitors head into Five Flags Speedway (FL) with just four points-paying races left and the top spots are tighter than they have been in a long time.
At the top, you have veteran short tracker Bubba Pollard who was the 2014 Southern Super Series points Champion and finished second the year before by a single point. The New Senoia, Georgia driver has been second in the points three times since that championship in 2014.
“Man I love points racing,” said Pollard sarcastically. “It’s not something we really think about when we go to the track. We have always had the mindset to be the best and win the race. If you do that then the points will take care of themselves.”
It’s not the victories that have allowed Pollard to climb back to the top of the standings, but it’s more of the consistency and solid runs he’s had. Pollard has run all 1537 laps this season and has posted top 10s in all the races that have been contested.
“On paper, we are having a good year with the finishes,” said Pollard. “However we are still working on how to figure out this tire combination. In the past, you could save more and benefit later.”
Pollard will be heading to his best track where he has posted 25 wins in the Deep South Crane Blizzard Series and a total of 50 top-five finishes.
The Tibbetts Lumber 100 will be the third leg of the Deep South Crane Blizzard Series. Racing will begin at a new time, 7:30 pm CT, at Five Flags as the Modifieds of Mayhem tour will be joining the full card of racing.
