Post Race Cordele

Bubba Numbers:  For Bubba Pollard, the win on Saturday night in the Georgia Summer Nationals was his 43rd career win.  It was also his ninth career win in the ASA Southern Super Series at Cordele Motor Speedway.  It also marked the 14th consecutive season in which he has won a race in the ASA Southern Super Series. 

Davis’s Solid Night: Spencer Davis led two of the three practice rounds, started up front, led the most laps, and finished second after starting second.  We can only hope that the first win for Davis comes sooner rather than later in the NEXUS Racing House Car with GMS Race Cars.  

Allman Season: Don’t look now, but he’s doing it again.  Colin Allman is fixing to be a major contender at the World Crown 300 in October. He was second in the Georgia Summer Nationals last year and followed that up with a second in the World Crown 300.  

Return to Form: Some people might have asked what year it was as Michael Hinde and Jett Noland were both in the top five at the end of the night.  Both drivers have been moonlighting part-time schedules this year, and to see success brings some added excitement to the upcoming World Crown 300 at Cordele Motor Speedway. 

Worth the Wait: Jett Noland became the fourth different Engine Builder Pole Award winner of the 2026 season.  It was the first time he has taken the honor since 2021.  Noland needed that and the good run he had to build momentum for the end of the season. 

Points Shift: With Tristan McKee having ARCA and Truck duties over the last few weeks, it was only a matter of time before he gave up the points lead for the ASA Southern Super Series.  Spencer Davis picks up the honor after a strong second-place run.  Davis is looking to be the first driver with the ASA Southern Super Series title and the Super Late Model title at the World Series of Asphalt of Stock Car Racing in the same year. 

Part Time Ringer: Jade Avedisian has only run a handful of races with the ASA Southern Super Series, but the ASA STARS National Tour regular is making the most of her events in the South.  Cordele was her third top 10 finish of the season as she is likely building a notebook for the World Crown 300 in October.  

Tough Night for the 51 Crowd: Normally having the car number 51 comes with good luck, but Saturday was anything but for the drivers with versions of that number.  Stephen Nasse was out early and finished 15th.  Jake Finch had overheating issues and was 17th.  Carson Ware fared the best, but still was only 14th.  

For the Crown: This past weekend we had so many of the players that will be key factors in the World Crown 300 at Cordele Motor Speedway on October 24th.  The race will double as a marquee event, and the championship points finale for the ASA Southern Super Series. 

Next Up: The ASA Southern Super Series will be back in action in two weeks when they roll into the Alabama Speedplant known as Mobile International Speedway for The Battle on the Bayou.  The Crane Works 100 will be the lone stop for the series at the Irvington, Alabama track.  Race day will be Saturday, September 5th.
