Pollard Seeking Royal Victory at World Crown

Bubba Pollard has won almost everything under the sun in the Super Late Model world. One race that has escaped his grasp has been the World Crown 300. Now in its 31st year at its second venue, Pollard has a total of 26 wins in a Late Model across those two venues, but none in the 300.
“It’s not from a lack of effort,” said Pollard. “We have run well, we have led laps, we have wrecked. You name it, and it happened at the World Crown to us. We don’t think about those things; we just go to the track and try to win.
“We really have to thank the Noland family for putting up such a big purse for all the Super Late Model teams to race for and to help keep this event going. We wouldn’t have an opportunity to get the Crown if not for them.”
Back in 2008, Pollard was running a number 42 machine and had trouble with the transmission, and it locked up on him twice that day, costing him laps. He made it back to the front twice that day and finished 10th after passing 50-plus cars on the track.
Pollard didn’t lead the race that day, but he’s been at the front of the World Crown 300 eight times in the past. Overall, he’s led 277 laps in the event. Only a handful of guys have led that many laps in the past.
Overall, Pollard has two second-place runs and two third-place runs in the World Crown. Those finishes have come in different types of race cars (Pro Late Model and Super Late Model), different distances and different tracks.
“I would trade in all the laps I have led to lead the 300th,” added Pollard. “The World Crown means a lot, especially to a Georgia driver like me. We were good at the Greshem track, and we have been good at Cordele in the past. Hopefully we can gain some headwear and a big trophy.”
Don’t forget the World Crown 300 weekend is coming up on October 23rd and October 24th. The ASA Southern Super Series will also crown the 2026 series champion. There is a chance that one driver could walk out of the Cordele as Winner and a Champion after 300 laps.
