It was not the finish that Bubba Pollard wanted, but leading laps and securing a top five a few weeks after hand surgery is a pretty solid result. Pollard led the World Crown for the seventh time in his career, and he posted his 36th career Engine Builders pole award. His third-place run was Pollard’s fourth podium finish at the World Crown 300. Pollard now has 14 top 10 finishes in 2025 in the ASA Southern Super Series.
The victory by Jake Garcia was the second deepest a winner has come from this season. Derek Kraus started 15th at Newport and won. Garcia started 14th and won the World Crown 300. For Garcia, it was his second win of 2025 and sixth in the ASA Southern Super Series.
Garcia now has two-crowned jeweled Super Late Model wins after he won the All-American 400 last year. Garcia also has a second-place finish in the Snowball Derby back in 2019. Imagine, had that been a victory, Garcia would be in the club of those who have three wins in the big four. Fellow Georgia driver Chase Elliott is the only driver to win all four of the “traditional” Grand Slams that include the All American 400, the Snowball Derby, the World Crown, and the Winchester 400.
Colin Allman has now pocketed two runner-up finishes to Jake Garcia, both at Cordele Motor Speedway. Allman has led 131 laps in those events and has failed to win. Perhaps he will ask Garcia not to attend the next race at Cordele. That said, his performances in 2025 shows this small team can compete with the best.
Johnny Sauter posted his second-straight top-five finish with the ASA Southern Super Series and at one point looked to be the next Wisconsin driver to wear the World Crown after Dick Trick, Rich Bickle, and Chris Wimmer had done it before him. Seth Christensen posted a top five in his ASA Southern Super Series debut and his second-straight top five in the World Crown.
Rookie Gavan Boschele posted a solid sixth after leading laps and making the most of his World Crown 300 debut. Boschele posted his 12th top 10 of the season and led laps for the first time since his win at New Smyrna in February.
Matt Craig posted another top 10 finish in an event that saw him start his Super Late Model career. Back in 2014, he ran his first major Super Late Model race in the World Crown 300. The young rookie finished eighth that night. The finish this year allowed Craig to post his 11th top 10 finish of the season.
Stephen Nasse posted his fourth top 10 of his career in the World Crown 300 and his 11th top 10 finish of the 2025 season. Nasse has completed over 97% of the laps he has attempted to run in 2025.
2026 planning is well underway, and the ASA Southern Super Series will be back for the SpeedFest event at Cordele Motor Speedway on Saturday, January 24th. The 150-lap race will non-points event for the ASA Southern Super Series and the ASA CRA Super Series. As always, the JEGS CRA All-Stars Tour will have a feature before the Super Late Model race.
Now it’s off to the All-American 400 at the Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway. The season-ending race for the ASA STARS National Tour is a non-points race for the ASA Southern Super Series. Jake Garcia will be looking to defend his All-American 400 win from a year ago.
