North Carolina Upstart Wins the Cowboy Hat at New Smyrna Speedway
(SAMSULA, FLORIDA) – 2025 ASA STARS National Tour Rookie of the Year Carson Brown (New London, NC) made the most of his 2026 debut by winning the 27th Annual SIG Sauer Academy Clyde Hart Memorial 200 presented by Appalachian Sucker Punch at New Smyrna Speedway. For Brown, it’s his second career Appalachian Sucker Punch ASA STARS National Tour victory. Despite leading seven races a year ago, Brown had never led over 100 laps until this event. Florida Set to Host Southern Super Series Opener
For the first time in series history, the ASA Southern Super Series will open the season in the Sunshine State. This will make the February 10th Co-Sanctioned ASA STARS National Tour Clyde Hart Memorial 200 at New Smyrna Speedway the first race of 2026 for both the regional series and the National Tour. Due to weather issues at Cordele Motor Speedway (GA), SpeedFest will be pushed back on the schedule, giving New Smyrna the opportunity to host the kickoff tour party for 2026


VDL Fuel Systems Returns as Rookie of the Year Sponsor for Southern Super Series
Long-time running partner, VDL Fuel Systems, will once again be the title sponsor of the ASA Southern Super Rookie of the Year program. Awarded to the top rookie who earns the most points during the season, the award has garnered much attention over the years. First-year Super Late Model drivers have made names for themselves after winning this honor. Former SSS Rookie of the Year winners won 16 of the 25 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series races in 2025, including the Series C
