North Carolina Doubleheader Added for Southern Super Series, Extra Money on The Line

Pensacola, FL (April 1, 2023) - ASA Southern Super Series officials have announced that a race

will be added to the 2023 series schedule at Southern National Motorsports Park on Thursday,

June 22. The new event comes after the Georgia Spring Nationals at Crisp Motorsports Park,

originally scheduled for Saturday April 1, was not run due to weather.

Southern National Motorsports Park is a 4/10ths mile high-banked facility located in Kenly, NC.

This will be the Southern Super Series’ first-ever visit to Southern National.

With the new race added, it now sets the stage for a North Carolina doubleheader, with a race at

Southern National on Thursday, June 22, and a race 100 miles away at Swansboro’s Carteret

County Speedway for the Shootout By The Sea on Saturday, June 24.

A $5,000 bonus will be up for grabs if a driver wins both races at Southern National and Carteret

County.

“We’re happy to be working so well with all the promoters. Their cooperation with each other is

what short track racing needs,” said Southern Super Series director Tim Bryant. “Michael Diaz at

SNMP and I have been on each other’s radar for a while, and now the time is right. I’m glad to

move on with positive news and energy with the North Carolina doubleheader.

“The Southern Super Series has worked very well with the Lyle family at Cordele and we were

sad to lose the Spring Nationals, but we’re looking forward to returning to Crisp Motorsports

Park on August 19 for the Georgia Summer Nationals.”

More information regarding the ASA Southern Super Series race at Southern National

Motorsports Park will be released soon. Title and Presenting Sponsor announcements are

forthcoming.

The Southern Super Series heads to Montgomery Motor Speedway on Saturday, April 15 for the
